THE NIGHT BEFORE THE BIG DAY
The MyOptical Cup Calcutta, held the Friday night prior to the Cup, is the ideal warm up to a great day of thoroughbred racing and is the unofficial start of the Cup festivities.
Everybody is welcome to the Calcutta, held in the Members’ Enclosure at Allman Park. It’s a great way to soak up the pre-Cup action featuring an animated auction and a live phantom call of the Cup to spark the racing spirit. A cash bar will be operating on the night.

MAKE A WEEKEND OF IT
If you’re heading to Warwick for the Cup, why not make a weekend of it? Spring is a great time to visit country Queensland and make the most of the local hospitality.
Relax after the Cup with a round of golf or by simply taking time out in the countryside. Warwick, the centre of the scenic Darling Downs, is a vibrant rural community known for its sandstone architecture, famous homesteads and rose gardens as well as cosmopolitan cafes and boutiques.
You may even take the opportunity to explore the nearby wineries of Queensland’s premier wine region, the Granite Belt.
There are plenty of accommodation options in and around Warwick that will ensure your stay is comfortable and convenient.
Post Cup? Glengallan, a grand two story sandstone country house on the outskirts of Warwick is open for tours on the weekend and also features Eliza’s Café operating between 10am-4pm. Eliza’s will be hosting a rustic country breakfast/brunch on Sunday after the Cup. Call the café for bookings, 07 4667 3866.

This iconic regional event is supported by Warwick Credit Union, Frasers Livestock Transport, Creed & Lang, Warwick Vet Clinic, Warwick Daily News, Warwick Hotel, Gross Wholesale Meats, MyOptical, CGU Insurance, Spicers Group, Novotel Twin Waters, Classic Dimensions and RM Williams.
